Psychology Today Editorial Design
EDITORIAL DESIGN
The goal for this project was to create my own issue of Psychology Today while adhering to its existing brand guidelines and editorial rules, resulting in a professional and seemless publication. I began by analyzing the magazine’s design system—typefaces, grid structure, and image style—and its target audience and tone. Using this knowledge, I designed a cover, table of contents, three articles, and an advertisement. This project taught me how to follow brand guidelines, analyze editorial frameworks, and translate design decisions into print. The final deliverable was a polished, printed 21 page issue of Psychology Today that reflected its design principles and editorial identity, while also reflecting my own originality as a designer.
